spaceships, aliens, mummies, robots and cars

Here are some of my sketches from the Cappuccini Catacombs in Palermo. One of the strangest places I've ever been to.
These guys where mummified in their best clothes and 'buried' in upright position along the corridors of the catacomb. 8000 of them! Stuffed with hay to keep them posed, children and adults alike dating back to the 1500's.

Wish we could have spend some more time there.

anndd...back to a bit more usual subject matter.

Hope you enjoy!

You've been busy! Lots of good stuff in there. I like how the first one has a rendition of the spaceship that makes it look almost like it's underwater. I think another thing that reinforces that impression is the antennae type structures that come out of the front. They remind me of the barbels on some fish (the whisker-like appendages that they use for finding food in murky water).

The cappuccin crypt sketches are pretty unreal too. I like the one with the burger.
